Senior Software Engineer, Data Engineering Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of designing and implementing blockchain network infrastructure that simplifies blockchain complexity into dependable platform APIs.

• Spearhead multi-quarter projects that include new chain integrations, re-architecture initiatives, and data migrations aimed at enhancing system latency, reliability, and cost efficiency.

• Establish and uphold APIs, SLOs, and observability for the systems you create, which includes on-call responsibilities.

• Collaborate with product and platform teams to define data contracts and deliver SDKs and platform components that foster adoption throughout Coinbase.

• Acquire in-depth technical knowledge across various leading blockchain protocols (e.g., Bitcoin, Ethereum) and utilize that expertise to streamline cross-chain operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of software engineering experience, showcasing ownership of production services within a service-oriented architecture.

• Proven experience in designing, scaling, and managing distributed systems that handle high-throughput, low-latency workloads.

• Practical experience with at least two of the following technologies: Golang, Kafka, Redis, MongoDB, or comparable infrastructure technologies.

• Direct involvement with blockchain protocols or crypto infrastructure (e.g., working with Ethereum, Bitcoin, or similar L1/L2 networks).

• Demonstrated ability to break down complex systems (monoliths, legacy architectures) into well-defined microservices with clear API contracts.

• Employs generative AI in a responsible manner, ensuring human oversight to produce business-ready outputs and achieve measurable enhancements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
