Senior Software Engineer – Data Backend, Search Quality

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.

📋 Description

• Develop, enhance, and maintain our backend platforms to facilitate prototyping, testing, and scaling of our Search systems.

• Collaborate closely with product-oriented backend engineers within the team to create efficient systems for Search Annotations, Recall, and overall LLM-backed search experiences.

• Partner with other engineering teams, such as Ads and Market Engineering, to establish integrated backend systems that align with our collective goals.

• Play a key role in shaping our next-generation, smarter search roadmap, vision, and implementation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in an object-oriented programming language (such as Python or Java).

• Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases, Unix, and developing within a Continuous Integration/Deployment pipeline.

• Expertise in AWS services including S3, Glue, and Athena.

• Ability to design and maintain large-scale distributed systems that support a consumer application or website.

• Proficient in creating effective APIs (such as REST or GraphQL).

• Familiarity with performance analysis tools (e.g., tracers, profilers, debuggers, visualization tools).

• Skilled in collaborating and coordinating requirements across various teams.

• Strong documentation capabilities.

• Interest or experience in developing infrastructure that supports data-intensive applications.
