This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver Product-Centric Data: Take ownership of the complete delivery of data across Market Research, Market Surveys, and Daylight Revenue, ensuring alignment between technical priorities and product objectives.
• Enhance Data Ingestion: Design and improve our ingestion pipelines, processing data for over 10 million multifamily units through XML/JSON feeds, web scraping, warehouse transformations, and API integration.
• Establish Technical Standards: Define the metrics for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of our datasets, ensuring that all criteria fulfill the specific requirements of each product line.
• Foster Team Collaboration: Partner closely with Product and Application Engineering teams to ensure that new datasets facilitate measurable features and actionable insights for customers.
• Guarantee Operational Excellence: Implement robust observability in our systems, including daily monitoring, anomaly detection, and automated alerts to sustain ingest health.
• Oversee Roadmap Execution: Lead the achievement of data milestones by setting objectives, tracking progress in Linear, and communicating results to stakeholders.
• Embrace Emerging Tools: Keep abreast of advancements in data and AI tools to enhance team efficiency and integrate new technologies that add value.
• Document and Share Knowledge: Promote a culture of continuous improvement by maintaining comprehensive documentation and mentoring others on best practices in data management.
• Proven Track Record: A minimum of 5 years of experience in software or data engineering, with a focus on delivering pipelines that support customer-facing features.
• Technical Versatility: Strong proficiency in Ruby on Rails and Python.
• Data Ingestion Expert: Extensive knowledge of large-scale data collection techniques, including web scraping, parsing, proxy management, and structured feed ingestion.
• Pipeline Architect: Practical experience with batch-style data workflows using tools such as dbt, Airflow, or equivalent systems.
• Cloud Native: In-depth expertise in AWS infrastructure (RDS, ECS, S3, Lambda, OpenSearch).
• Observability Minded: Familiarity with contemporary stacks for performance tracking, error monitoring, and distributed tracing.
• Strategic Communicator: Exceptional ability to convey complex technical information into clear, actionable product outcomes.
