Senior Software Engineer – Cloud Platform, Java Architecture

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and platform components utilizing Java.

• Contribute to the architecture, scalability, performance, and reliability of cloud-native applications.

• Build and enhance cloud platform capabilities, including deployment automation, provisioning, observability, and lifecycle management.

• Develop and sustain APIs, integrations, and platform services that support enterprise applications.

• Engage in technical design discussions, architecture reviews, and make engineering trade-off decisions.

• Review code, advocate for engineering best practices, and assist in maintaining high code quality standards.

• Diagnose and resolve complex production and customer-facing issues.

• Collaborate closely with Product, QA, DevOps, and Engineering teams throughout the software lifecycle.

• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, containerization strategies, and infrastructure automation.

• Support the continuous improvement of platform architecture, engineering processes, and technical standards.

• Participate in open-source initiatives and contribute to the broader engineering community when applicable.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of professional software engineering experience.

• Strong production experience with Java and contemporary backend development practices.

• Experience in designing and managing applications in cloud environments (AWS, OVH, or similar providers).

• Extensive expertise with Docker, containerization technologies, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Familiarity with DevOps practices and cloud infrastructure automation.

• Solid understanding of distributed systems, scalability, reliability, and platform engineering concepts.

• Experience working with APIs, microservices, and modern software architectures.

• Strong problem-solving skills and a pragmatic engineering approach.

• Experience in performing code reviews and mentoring junior developers.

• Familiarity with JavaScript/TypeScript ecosystems is seen as an advantage.

• Experience with React or modern front-end frameworks is a plus.

• Open-source contributions or active involvement in technical communities are highly appreciated.

• Proficient English communication skills (both written and spoken).
