Senior Software Engineer, Backend – Payments

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and monitor backend services within production settings.

• Contribute to the advancement of a large-scale payments platform that caters to millions of users.

• Primarily work with Ruby-based backend systems, enhancing and maintaining core services.

• Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and other cross-functional stakeholders to address real business challenges.

• Convert product requirements into practical and scalable technical solutions.

• Lead architectural discussions and play a role in technical decision-making.

• Enhance system reliability, observability, performance, and security.

• Oversee projects from start to finish, ensuring high-quality execution and delivery.

• Engage in code reviews and advocate for engineering best practices.

• Mentor fellow engineers and contribute to the team's technical development.

• Facilitate communication and alignment among distributed teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in building and managing backend systems in production environments.

• Strong grasp of software design, distributed systems, and scalable architecture.

• Familiarity with both relational and non-relational databases.

• Experience with messaging and event-driven systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar technologies.

• Ability to work independently and take ownership of complex issues from discovery to delivery.

• Strong analytical skills and adept problem-solving capabilities.

• Product-oriented mindset with the ability to comprehend business context when making technical choices.

• Excellent communication skills and a capacity to collaborate in a global setting.

• Fluent/Advanced proficiency in English (C1-C2 Level).
