Senior Software Engineer – Backend Focus

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Provide leadership and technical guidance to fellow engineers.

• Create comprehensive architecture and design documentation utilizing principles of distributed systems, algorithms, logging frameworks, scaling, and microservices.

• Develop high-quality, testable Java code within a backend-centric full-cycle engineering environment.

• Design, construct, and deploy scalable cloud-native applications within public cloud infrastructures.

• Enhance the core backend infrastructure tailored for the payments sector.

• Manage and integrate applications with enterprise database technologies.

• Facilitate backend data migration projects.

• Supervise and manage codebase integration employing merge methodologies across platforms such as Git, GitLab, BitBucket, and others.

• Diagnose and resolve intricate technical challenges across various domains.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient-level experience in Java programming.

• Practical experience in developing testable code.

• Thorough understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

• Capability to write effective unit test cases and automation test scripts.

• Experience with microservices, emphasizing a strong backend focus.

• Background in developing large-scale, complex backend applications.

• Familiarity with the payments industry or the creation of payment applications.

• Knowledge of distributed systems and scalable application development.

• Experience with cloud-native applications, algorithms, logging frameworks, scaling, and UML concepts.

• Proficiency in SOAP/REST communication and test harnesses.

• Experience with merge methodologies utilizing Git, GitLab, and BitBucket.

• Familiarity or experience with tools such as Cypress.io, TestRail, Selenium, and Jenkins in backend or full-cycle engineering.

• AI experience is a plus.

• Risk and compliance experience is a plus.

• Experience in database management and data migration with Oracle, RDS, and DynamoDB is a plus.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus.

• Ability to complete at least one live coding assessment via shared screen.
