Senior Software Engineer, Backend – Card Acquisition

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of and achieve quarterly objectives for the team, guiding engineers through uncertain situations and ensuring consistent support during delivery.

• Work collaboratively with product management, design, and analytics teams throughout the entire product development process.

• Engage in brainstorming sessions, clarify technical limitations, and collaborate on decisions that involve risks and trade-offs.

• Identify and lead the resolution of issues related to projects, processes, technology, and business operations.

• Manage team operations and availability, which includes monitoring, triage rotations, playbooks, policies, testing, alerting, and on-call responsibilities.

• Establish or enhance code review and design standards, advocating for these standards through written documentation and technical presentations.

• Foster team development through constructive feedback, guidance, and leading by example.

• Participate in the mandatory on-call rotation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in designing, developing, and launching scalable backend systems.

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Kotlin.

• Proven experience in developing highly available distributed systems.

• Familiarity with AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.

• Capability to outline technical plans for major features or system components.

• Skills in creating elegant, simple, and extensible software designs.

• Ability to produce high-quality, maintainable code.

• Competence in making substantial modifications in large codebases safely.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

• Must reside in Spain.
