This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.
• Take ownership of and achieve quarterly objectives for the team.
• Guide engineers through complex, undefined challenges and facilitate successful delivery.
• Work collaboratively with product management, design, and analytics during the entire product development cycle.
• Engage in brainstorming sessions, clearly communicate technical limitations, and collaborate on risk management and trade-off decisions.
• Recognize and lead the resolution of issues related to projects, processes, technology, and business operations.
• Manage team operations and availability, encompassing monitoring, triage rotations, playbooks, policies, testing, alerting, and on-call responsibilities.
• Establish or enhance code review and design standards, advocating for them through documentation and technical presentations.
• Foster team talent through constructive feedback, guidance, and by setting a strong example.
• Participate in an essential on-call rotation.
• Outline a long-term technical strategy and create efficient, accessible user experiences that influence conversion, retention, and growth.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in designing, developing, and deploying backend systems at scale.
• Proficiency in Python or Kotlin.
• Proven experience in developing highly available distributed systems.
• Familiarity with AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
• Capability to establish technical plans for major features or system components.
• Expertise in creating elegant, simple, and extensible system designs.
• Ability to produce high-quality, understandable code.
• Skillful in making substantial changes to large codebases safely.
• Experience in developing tools and methodologies for safe codebase modifications.
• Demonstrated proactive approach to professional development and seeking feedback.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• A Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
