Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-quality applications across both new and existing product lines.

• Take ownership of features from start to finish — including architecture, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing iteration.

• Architect and enhance our core technology stack (Python, FastAPI, Vue.js, PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker, Kubernetes).

• Collaborate with Product and business stakeholders to translate complex business and product requirements into elegant, reliable technical solutions.

• Propel advancements in performance, reliability, testing, and CI/CD methodologies.

• Mentor fellow engineers while fostering a culture of engineering excellence and accountability.

• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of professional experience in software development.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline (or equivalent hands-on experience).

• Extensive experience in building APIs and backend services using Python, including OpenAPI-based service contracts.

• Proven experience in developing and deploying containerized applications within AWS environments, including event-driven architectures.

• Preferred experience in real estate finance or financial services.

• Deep expertise in Python (3.6+) and modern backend frameworks like FastAPI, with an emphasis on clean, maintainable architecture.

• Strong knowledge of SQL databases, including schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning.

• Ability to design efficient, scalable backend systems, incorporating background processing, queues, caching strategies, and scheduled jobs.

• Solid understanding of testing strategies at unit, integration, and end-to-end levels.

• Familiarity with system design documentation practices, such as UML and architectural diagrams.

• Understanding of event sourcing and/or Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles.

• Capability to utilize AI-enabled development tools to improve design, implementation, and testing workflows.
