Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.

• Take ownership of the architecture and long-term technical strategy for key components of our technology stack.

• Lead the design and implementation of intricate, scalable systems that fulfill current and future business requirements.

• Simplify complexity — consistently seek methods to enhance productivity by streamlining services, processes, and codebases.

• Mentor technical leads and senior engineers; enhance team effectiveness through cross-functional collaboration and inclusive decision-making.

• Serve as a technical advocate — work with executives and stakeholders to harmonize technical and business objectives.

• Foster innovation in cost efficiency, scalability, and engineering productivity throughout the division.

• Actively identify and resolve technical debt; implement enhancements that improve the quality and speed of the entire team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in software development.

• In-depth knowledge of software architecture, system design, and scalability, with a solid hands-on background.

• Proficient in our primary technology stack: Ruby on Rails, React, AWS, and PostgreSQL.

• Demonstrated history of making significant technical decisions in complex production environments.

• Exceptional cross-functional communication skills — equally effective with both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.

• Proven experience in mentoring senior engineers and technical leads, uplifting those around you.

• Strong grasp of security, performance, resilience, and cloud-native design at scale.

• Committed to continuous learning, staying updated with industry trends and emerging technologies.
