Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and deploy features and services on the LemonEdge platform from start to finish — encompassing data modeling, API design, testing, deployment, and operational maintenance.

• Identify and execute impactful enhancements: establish performance baselines, improve reliability, refactor high-traffic paths, and optimize data-access patterns that support the rest of the platform.

• Collaborate with Product, Client Success, and fellow engineering teams to define project scopes, ensure the delivery of customer-facing milestones in the quarterly roadmap, and address trade-offs and risks proactively.

• Engage directly with technical and subject-matter accounting experts, both internally and from clients, to refine solutions and quickly iterate based on their feedback.

• Elevate the engineering standards through comprehensive code reviews, design feedback, and mentoring mid-level engineers towards taking ownership of production-level code.

• Utilize coding tools effectively in daily tasks, while expanding safe operating practices that enhance AI-accelerated delivery, such as automated test coverage at pull request time, regression prevention, validation of generated code, and establishing norms for AI output trustworthiness.

• Advocate for supportability and customer experience: maintain strong observability, disciplined incident response, adherence to SLAs, and adopt a proactive approach to defect management rather than a reactive one.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in building production software, with a proven history of delivering complex systems within committed timelines.

• In-depth technical expertise in a modern server-side technology stack.

• Strong preference for candidates with experience in .NET / C#; however, we will consider those with equivalent expertise in another typed, managed-runtime environment who can quickly adapt.

• Proven success in enhancing an existing platform at scale; you thrive on improving a live codebase to be faster, safer, and easier to modify, rather than solely focusing on greenfield projects.

• Comfort with the complete delivery lifecycle: data modeling, API design, testing strategies, CI/CD, observability, and production operations within a cloud-hosted SaaS environment.

• Proficient use of AI-assisted development tools, paired with the discernment to recognize their strengths and limitations.

• A high standard for quality: you take responsibility for every line of code you produce, view testing as a regular practice rather than a chore, and prioritize regression prevention.

• Self-motivated and pragmatic; you can tackle ambiguous problems, assess them realistically, and drive them to completion without waiting for external assistance.

• Excellent written communication skills and a collaborative work style that is effective across engineering, product, and client-facing teams in a distributed organization.
