Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Conduct research and development for software applications and core components tailored for Windows and Linux systems on x86_64 architectures, encompassing services for:

• Manipulation and compositing of video and audio

• Scheduling and triggering of effects

• Media encoding and decoding

• Collaborate on projects alongside the architecture team

• Engage closely with fellow development team members in a stimulating, fast-paced, and welcoming environment

• Partner with QA and technical support teams to address issues identified through internal testing and by customers in the field

• Carry out self-directed and peer code reviews

• Create unit tests

• Document, plan, and decompose high-level feature requests into manageable sprint-sized tasks

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field

• Proficient Java development skills

• Proficient C++ development skills

• Experience in object-oriented design

• Over 5 years of professional software development experience

• More than 3 years of experience in multi-threaded application development

• Strong understanding of software engineering principles and best practices

• Experience working independently as well as in collaborative team settings

• In-depth knowledge of concurrent programming techniques

• Solid understanding of Linux and BASH command-line interface

• Strong familiarity with version control systems like Git and Mercurial

• Excellent team player

• Adaptable and versatile in learning new tools and addressing challenges

• Exceptional troubleshooting and debugging capabilities

• Well-developed oral and written communication skills
