Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain scalable backend services and APIs that drive DemandTec’s AI-powered retail platform.

• Implement new features and enhance existing services for improved performance.

• Conduct code reviews to ensure system performance, reliability, and security standards are met.

• Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and engineers to convert business requirements into technical solutions.

• Mentor team members and participate in architectural decision-making.

• Support continuous integration, testing, and deployment methodologies.

• Coordinate effectively across various time zones.

⛳️ Requirements

• Solid foundation in Computer Science, covering data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and software design principles.

• Proficient in software development utilizing Agentic engineering, including Claude Code/Codex, with a track record of delivering production-quality products.

• Experience in product development rather than consulting.

• Practical back-end web development experience in building and maintaining APIs, microservices, and databases.

• Extensive experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.

• Expertise in RDBMS, particularly Postgres, along with data access technologies, performance tuning, and data modeling.

• Expert knowledge in at least two programming languages: C#, Python, or Java.

• Proficient in frameworks such as FastAPI, Pydantic.AI, Pydantic 2, Polars, Pandas, .NET Core, Spring Boot, Enterprise Beans, Hibernate, or JDBC.

• Comfortable with modern development and DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, Agentic engineering, automated testing, and version control systems like Git.

• Willingness to work across different time zones.

• Strong problem-solving skills, a collaborative mentality, and effective communication abilities within cross-functional teams.

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or Engineering.

• Experience in retail, pricing, or data-intensive SaaS products is advantageous.
