Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design, development, and implementation of key features across Cambium's platform, including data infrastructure, internal tools, and client-facing interfaces.

• Utilize AI coding agents such as Claude Code as an integral part of your workflow, making it the standard rather than an occasional aid.

• Produce clean, maintainable, and efficient code with a focus on security and reliability.

• Assist in shaping Cambium's architecture and technical roadmap in collaboration with our Staff Engineer and leadership team.

• Identify and address technical debt and cross-functional challenges.

• Work collaboratively with teams across Product, Supply, Sales, and external partners.

• Guide team members and cultivate a culture of learning through code reviews, design evaluations, and postmortems.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8–10+ years of professional software development experience, preferably in startup or early-stage settings.

• Strong backend engineering skills in designing secure, maintainable, production-ready systems.

• Practical experience in delivering production code utilizing AI coding agents (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Codex).

• Frontend experience with React and modern TypeScript; capability to lead frontend architecture and implementation is a significant advantage.

• Proven ability to independently lead projects and influence discussions on architecture and roadmaps using a pragmatic, systems-thinking approach.

• Excellent communication skills for engaging with both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Familiarity with (or interest in) Cambium's technology stack: Python, Postgres, TypeScript, React, AWS.

• Bonus: experience in supply chain/logistics, geospatial data, ERP/CRM, or sustainability-focused technology.
