Senior Software Engineer, AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Establish a centralized reliability command center that provides teams with a cohesive view of system health, risk, and reliability across various services and environments.

• Develop AI agents capable of assisting with incident triage, root-cause analysis, log/trace summarization, and recommending subsequent actions.

• Design developer-centric features and APIs that aid engineers in data exploration, issue debugging, and informed decision-making.

• Utilize AI-assisted development tools (such as Cursor, Claude, Copilot) to efficiently prototype, refactor, and deliver high-quality code.

• Manage projects from start to finish: encompassing requirements gathering, architecture design, implementation, testing, rollout, and iterative improvements based on feedback.

• Work closely with partner teams (Product, Infra, Data, SRE) to identify challenges and convert them into effective, straightforward solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in backend or full-stack engineering, with a proven history of building and maintaining complex production systems.

• Excellent proficiency in Python, with a background in architecting data-intensive applications and robust APIs.

• Strong problem-solving skills and product intuition — capable of transforming ambiguous requirements into functional solutions rapidly.

• Practical experience with AI-assisted development tools like Cursor, Claude, or similar, with a keen interest in utilizing them to expedite feature delivery.

• Hands-on use of LLMs or AI frameworks to improve automation and provide guidance with appropriate guardrails and citations.

• Advanced, practical experience with Claude, extending beyond basic autocomplete functionality.

• Ability to integrate AI tools throughout the entire software development lifecycle - from design to deployment.

• Experience in creating end-to-end workflows using AI, including iterative development and ongoing refinement.

• Familiarity with self-healing testing loops and AI-driven automated validation methods.

• Basic understanding of UI development frameworks such as React, Angular, or similar, with the capability to utilize AI-assisted development tools for building and iterating on frontend interfaces.
