Senior Software Engineer, Agent – Datapath, eBPF

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Switzerland.

📋 Description

• Contribute to the development and design of essential components of Cilium's agent and datapath.

• Create high-quality code in Golang and eBPF for both the Cilium OSS/Enterprise and the Golang eBPF library.

• Adhere to open source development standards and best practices.

• Offer technical direction and mentorship to team members.

• Engage actively with the open-source community.

• Present at public conferences to share accomplishments (if desired).

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

• Over 5 years of experience with Golang, C, and a foundational knowledge of eBPF.

• Proficient in Linux systems design and networking.

• Familiarity with Kubernetes.

• Proven experience in leadership roles within a technical context.

• Experience with Cilium K8s CNI.

• More than 3 years of experience in writing eBPF programs.

• A strong desire to produce high-quality and efficient code.

• Prior experience in technical lead roles is advantageous.

• A public history of open-source code contributions is a plus.

• Experience in public speaking at technical open-source conferences is a plus.
