This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders within Zwift's Community Support team and various engineering departments to outline requirements, evaluate trade-offs, and deliver comprehensive technical solutions throughout the full software development life cycle.
• Identify and suggest enhancements in tools and processes that can elevate our customers' experiences and boost the efficiency of our Community Support team.
• Develop a thorough understanding of the team's technical architecture.
• Produce clean, efficient, testable, and maintainable code for both front-end and back-end systems.
• Carry out code reviews and maintain code quality through automated testing (e.g., unit testing, integration testing, etc.).
• Engage in agile development methodologies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Optimize team processes by creating systems that reduce development churn and minimize technical debt.
• Participate in on-call support, monitoring, and troubleshooting for all services managed by the team.
• Apply best practices for scalability, maintainability, security, and system performance.
• Stay informed about industry trends, particularly in AI, ML, and LLMs, and explore opportunities to incorporate these capabilities in innovative ways for Community Support applications.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Over 7 years of relevant experience in software engineering.
• At least 3 years of experience in full stack web/backend development.
• Exceptional communication skills for interacting with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proficient in front-end technologies and modern web development frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js, etc.).
• Strong back-end development capabilities with experience in languages such as Java, Kotlin, Node.js, Python, or similar.
• Familiarity with relational databases and distributed event streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka).
• Expertise in modern API design, development, and microservice architectures.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
• Ability to tackle complex problems through extensive knowledge, influencing others, and specialized domain expertise.
• Proven history of leading by example in engineering best practices and mentoring fellow engineers.
