This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

• Oversee and enhance essential systems within a legacy Java framework

• Create and uphold features adhering to established standards

• Evaluate and suggest enhancements for architecture, performance, and maintainability

• Identify and resolve intricate issues, including those related to performance, concurrency, and memory

• Engage in production troubleshooting and root cause investigations

• Perform code reviews and offer technical guidance to the team

• Collaborate with Quality Assurance, DevOps, and various business units

• Assist in modernization efforts including refactoring and decoupling.

• Proficiency in Java and Java EE

• Significant experience with Java, particularly older versions

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related discipline

• Expertise with JPA (1.0 / 2.0), EntityManager, and persistence context

• Familiarity with JPQL and query optimization techniques

• Understanding of fetching strategies (LAZY and EAGER)

• Experience with transaction management (JTA, commit/rollback, and propagation)

• Knowledge of EJB 2.x / 3.x

• Background with legacy Servlets, JSP, or JSF

• Bachelor’s degree in IT (listed twice in original)

• Experience with JCompany and Jaguar (preferred)

• Strong SQL capabilities

• Proficient in tuning queries and analyzing execution plans

• Familiarity with ORM and native SQL usage

• Experience with relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, or similar)

• Skills in debugging and root cause analysis

• Comprehension of concurrency and performance challenges

• Familiarity with Git and code review methodologies

• Experience in modernizing legacy systems

• Knowledge of Spring (Boot, Data)

• Familiarity with REST APIs

• Experience with messaging systems (JMS, Kafka, or similar)

• Proficient with build tools (Maven, Gradle, Ant)

• Experience with application servers (JBoss, WebLogic, WebSphere)

• Basic understanding of Docker and CI/CD pipelines
