Senior Software Developer – Bank & Brokerage Linking

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Establish and nurture relationships with banks and brokerages in Canada through web scraping, tailored workflows, and direct API integrations.

• Create tools that enhance the reliability of data acquisition and facilitate scalability.

• Leverage AI-assisted technologies to minimize manual scraping efforts and enable the team to swiftly adapt to changes in interfaces.

• Design systems that ensure rapid recovery in response to modifications in login processes or layouts by institutions.

• Collaborate with product, security, infrastructure, and SRE teams to provide clients with accurate balances, holdings, and transaction information.

• Enhance our internal automation processes to expedite the addition and repair of institutions over time.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience with data acquisition or financial connectivity solutions (e.g., Plaid-style APIs, Flinks-style screen scraping, SnapTrade-style brokerage linking).

• Strong proficiency in Node.js, particularly in asynchronous programming.

• Experience in developing or maintaining scraping systems utilizing headless browsers.

• Ability to operate in environments where third-party interfaces frequently change.

• Knowledge of authentication processes, MFA challenges, cookies, sessions, and rate limits.

• Experience in parsing intricate financial data such as balances, transactions, holdings, and corporate action adjustments.

• Interest in creating automation that minimizes manual scraping and repair tasks.

• Effective and consistent communication with both technical and non-technical teams.

• Willingness to engage in support tasks for investigating and troubleshooting broken integrations.

• Comfort with on-call responsibilities for critical data pipeline operations.
