This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the design, development, and modernization of low-code applications aimed at enhancing workflows and facilitating data exchange for FMCSA programs.
• Create scalable, secure, and maintainable application components utilizing approved low-code platforms and related technologies.
• Convert business and functional requirements into technical designs and application solutions.
• Connect low-code applications with databases, APIs, legacy systems, and cloud services.
• Implement secure coding practices and guarantee compliance with NIST, FISMA, DOT, and FMCSA security and privacy standards.
• Conduct code reviews, debugging, performance tuning, and application optimization.
• Assist with application onboarding, enhancements, and ongoing support throughout base and option periods.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts and stakeholders to clarify requirements and execute usability enhancements.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, which includes architecture diagrams, configuration artifacts, and deployment instructions.
• Support testing efforts, encompassing unit, integration, security, and user acceptance testing.
• Offer technical guidance and mentorship to intermediate developers as required.
• Engage in Agile ceremonies and contribute to the continuous enhancement of development processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
• At least 8–10 years of software development experience, with hands-on involvement in low-code or rapid application development platforms.
• Proven experience in designing and developing enterprise applications within federal or large-scale regulated environments.
• Strong expertise in low-code platforms (e.g., Power Platform, Appian, ServiceNow, Mendix, OutSystems, or similar).
• Proficiency in web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Experience in API development and system integration (REST/SOAP).
• Knowledge of relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc.).
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Solid understanding of secure application development and DevSecOps practices.
• Awareness of federal IT security standards, including NIST SP 800-53, FISMA, and Privacy Act requirements.
• Experience in supporting application sustainment, enhancements, and operational support.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
• Capability to work effectively with Government stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
