Senior Software Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design and develop robust systems that drive AI agents for Knak’s AI platform.

• Create and sustain testable, observable, and high-performance RESTful APIs using Laravel (PHP).

• Construct Python and Node.js microservices for hosting AI agents and interacting with LLMs.

• Implement object-oriented and functional programming methodologies throughout the stack.

• Optimize MySQL queries and indexing to enhance speed and minimize latency.

• Leverage AWS services, such as Lambda and CDN delivery, to establish secure and scalable infrastructure.

• Lead and engage in code reviews.

• Collaborate with product, design, QA, and DevOps teams to ensure solutions meet business requirements.

• Mentor fellow engineers and advocate for technical excellence.

• Influence architectural decisions and shape the future of marketing automation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in backend software development.

• Strong expertise in PHP (Laravel), Python, Node.js, and MySQL.

• Proficient in RESTful APIs, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) using GitHub Actions.

• Experience with SaaS architecture, microservices, and AWS.

• Familiar with observability, performance tuning, and scalability.

• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.

• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a collaborative approach.

• Experience in developing AI-powered products (preferred).

• Background in LLMs, LangGraph, or AI agent frameworks (preferred).

• Previous experience in a rapidly growing SaaS company (preferred).
