This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.
• Develop prototypes and software design proposals that deliver immediate business value while aligning with the long-term product and architectural vision.
• Investigate and decompose large initiatives into manageable, parallel tasks that contribute incremental business value towards the final feature objective.
• Advocate for proposals through all stages of the Agile Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), from design to implementation.
• Play a key role in enhancing the core product build, CI/CD pipelines, and the overall SDLC process.
• Collaborate with senior developers and architects to define and monitor the execution of the product architecture roadmap.
• Diagnose and resolve persistent root causes of production issues affecting your product.
• Lead design discussions both within the squad and with external stakeholders.
• Represent the team in technical conversations with Tech Leads, Operations, Product/UX teams, and external partners.
• Mentor fellow developers through design reviews, pair programming, and code reviews.
• Maintain and update technical documentation, creating new artifacts as needed.
• Disseminate knowledge on emerging technologies and industry best practices to enhance our coding standards.
• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
• Proven experience in building highly distributed microservice architectures utilizing Java 17/21, Spring Boot 3.x, and Gradle.
• Strong object-oriented programming skills and a commitment to code quality, design patterns, and SOLID principles.
• Experience with complex projects in the public cloud, preferably AWS.
• Proficiency in developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar tools.
• Ability to create and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions.
• Strong initiative to enhance processes, tools, methodologies, and product quality.
• Expertise in test-driven development, including the creation of unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests.
• Experience in developing and working with well-designed HTTP APIs, such as REST or GraphQL.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in English.
