Senior Site Reliability Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Italy.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the infrastructure that supports Ping's authentication and authorization services across worldwide production EKS clusters.

• Lead the automation of deployments across both production and testing EKS clusters utilizing GitOps with Flux and ArgoCD.

• Manage infrastructure requirements and oversee the maintenance backlog effectively.

• Work collaboratively with delivery engineers, product owners, and software developers across various teams.

• Develop and maintain a robust, automated platform foundation for both production and development environments.

• Integrate and enhance AI agents to streamline engineering workflows, including incident triage and deployment processes.

• Contribute to the development of identity-centric platform infrastructure that underpins authentication and authorization services.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated professional experience as an SRE/DevOps Engineer.

• Strong background in infrastructure automation and configuration management using Helm, Terraform, and Crossplane.

• Practical knowledge of Kubernetes, Istio, and Flux GitOps workflows.

• Direct experience in deploying and managing container workloads on EKS.

• Experience in monitoring and alerting utilizing New Relic, Splunk, and PagerDuty.

• Regular use of AI agents and LLM-based tools in everyday engineering tasks.

• Understanding of best practices in secrets management, particularly SOPS and AWS KMS.

• Familiarity with CI/CD tools, preferably CircleCI.

• Bonus: Experience in building or enhancing internal AI agents, including prompt engineering, tool integrations, and agentic workflows.

• Bonus: Knowledge of Python or Go for scripting and tooling purposes.

• Bonus: Experience with identity and security infrastructure, including OAuth 2.0, SAML, zero-trust, and mTLS.

• Bonus: Familiarity with Ping Identity products or the broader identity/authentication ecosystem.
