This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Evaluate system performance utilizing APM and distributed telemetry data to pinpoint instability sources
• Enhance scalability, reliability, and performance through software upgrades and patch management
• Create tools and automation to optimize the DevOps pipeline
• Design and oversee infrastructure in both physical data center environments and public cloud settings
• Execute predictive failure analysis and disaster recovery planning
• Manage and configure databases and key-value stores, focusing on uptime and performance
• Examine complex systems to uncover operational surprises and reduce downtime
• Engage in incident response and generate postmortem reports
• Work collaboratively with other engineering teams
• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and/or relevant experience as a Site Reliability Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or Software Engineer
• Proficiency in Python or Golang; experience with other compiled or high-level languages such as C, C#, C++, Java, Rust, etc., is also acceptable
• Experience in managing Web applications at scale
• Familiarity with Web application concepts and frameworks, including ORM, MVC architecture, Django, Flask, Laravel, etc.
• Competence in Linux administration, Bash shell, and a solid understanding of Linux internals (e.g., filesystems, system calls)
• In-depth knowledge of networking (e.g., routing, switching, TCP stack) applicable to both physical and cloud environments (VPC, Security Groups)
• Background in database administration and configuration
• Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, or Helm
• Willingness to partake in an on-call rotation and respond to monitoring and alerts of core website functions as necessary
