Senior Site Reliability Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Transition applications from conventional (non-containerized) Ansible deployments to containerized, orchestrated deployments in AWS as well as on-premises settings.

• Enhance existing CI/CD initiatives to accommodate various deployment strategies (Blue/Green, Canary, etc.).

• Assist Development/QA/UAT teams by creating an environment that allows anyone in the organization to test a release throughout the development lifecycle.

• Improve shared infrastructure for developers, including CI/CD pipelines, log/application monitoring, cluster management, and configuration management.

• Migrate application secrets and configurations from Ansible Vault to Hashicorp Vault.

• Automate infrastructure provisioning during deployment processes.

• Manage code deployments across all environments (cloud and on-premises).

• Implement monitoring tools to alert regarding service level metrics and objectives.

• Offer technical guidance and educate team members and colleagues on development and operations.

• Monitor pertinent systems for availability and performance.

• Available to support release activities during business hours and after hours.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5-8 years of hands-on experience in a SRE/DevOps role supporting production systems.

• Production experience with Linux-based infrastructure and administration of services on AWS (RDS, VPC, ECR, CloudWatch, Cloud Formation, Lambda, API Gateway) and on-premises.

• Proven experience with deployment technologies such as Kubernetes, Ansible, Jenkins, and Terraform (or similar tools).

• Exceptional documentation skills to ensure swift onboarding for team members regarding changes.

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

• Experience in implementing rolling upgrades (canary, blue/green, etc.).

• Proficient scripting and tooling skills (Bash, Python, JS, etc.).

• Self-motivated, resourceful, and possesses a persistent problem-solving mindset along with advanced time management skills.

• Ability to independently utilize and refine prompts to enhance the quality, efficiency, and insight of routine work processes.

• Must be willing to participate in technical interviews and answer technical questions, which may be recorded or transcribed for evaluation (required).
