This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Conduct signal integrity (SI) simulations utilizing tools like HyperLynx, HFSS, or CST.
• Detect and address challenges related to crosstalk, signal degradation, reflections, and other performance issues in high-speed designs.
• Review PCB layout designs to guarantee optimal signal performance, offering insights and suggestions to layout and hardware design teams.
• Partner with hardware engineers to enhance high-speed signal paths, ensuring compliance with specifications for interfaces such as DDR5, PCIe, USB4, SerDes, and Ethernet.
• Assess and affirm signal integrity for power delivery networks (PDN) to reduce noise, ground bounce, and power/ground integrity challenges.
• Collaborate closely with PCB layout, hardware, and mechanical teams to ensure design decisions reflect signal integrity best practices.
• Formulate and execute testing strategies to verify signal integrity on prototypes and final products using tools like oscilloscopes, vector network analyzers (VNA), and time domain reflectometry (TDR).
• Develop and sustain signal integrity design guidelines, best practices, and checklists to assist hardware engineers throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Identify and rectify SI issues during the bring-up phase of new products, ensuring minimal effects on time-to-market.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Over 5 years of experience in signal integrity and related fields within hardware engineering, with practical experience in LPDDR5, PCIe, USB4, SerDes, and Ethernet protocols.
• Strong comprehension of high-speed signal transmission concepts, including impedance, crosstalk, noise, and signal attenuation.
• Expertise in SI analysis tools such as Ansys HFSS, SIWave, CST, or other similar industry-standard software.
• Practical experience with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, VNAs, TDRs, and protocol analyzers.
• Capability to contribute to process enhancements and the creation of new methodologies for signal integrity analysis.
