Senior Security Operations Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the creation, deployment, and management of security operations tools and services such as SIEM, EDR, NDR, email, and cloud; develop detection rules, automated playbooks, and integrations.

• Act as a technical advisor for security operations analysts; conduct design evaluations and offer engineering insights on detection and response workflows.

• Utilize a detections-as-code methodology; ensuring version control, peer review, and alignment with alert quality metrics.

• Design and implement security engineering capabilities, encompassing endpoint security, data loss prevention, email security, network security, SIEM enhancements, detection engineering, and security automation.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute threat modeling and incorporate security requirements throughout the development lifecycle.

• Investigate, assess, and operationalize security products and services (including AI-enabled platforms), create proof-of-concept integrations, provide adoption recommendations or deferrals, and promote adoption across the security stack.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (or equivalent experience).

• Over 7 years of practical experience in security engineering or security operations.

• Proven ability to independently define, lead, and deliver multi-month security engineering initiatives, including but not limited to security information and event management, endpoint detection and response, network detection and response, vulnerability management, threat intelligence, security awareness, data loss prevention, firewalls, and email security.

• Familiarity with cloud-native environments (Azure and AWS).

• Experience with cloud security platforms and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Azure DevOps, or similar).

• Skilled in scripting and automation languages (Python, PowerShell, or Bash) for developing security tools and streamlining repetitive tasks.

• Proficient in both spoken and written English.
