Senior Security Engineer, Enterprise Security

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Design and implement security protocols to safeguard company data against unauthorized access, disclosure, and misuse.

• Collaborate closely with the Detection & Response team to ensure comprehensive visibility into enterprise access, networks, and devices.

• Deploy and oversee security tools throughout Discord's corporate infrastructure.

• Establish security standards that offer robust protection while facilitating efficient workflows.

• Create and deliver security awareness training sessions for employees.

• Shape and enforce Discord's IT and security policies.

• Build secure, sustainable environments utilizing modern principles such as "secure by design" and “zero-trust” network architecture, without depending on traditional VPN setups.

• Cultivate a security-aware culture by educating employees on best practices for data protection.

• Collaborate across functions with IT, Engineering, Workplace, and other teams to meet security objectives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience in an Enterprise Security role as a senior individual contributor or lead.

• More than 3 years of programming experience in at least one general-purpose programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Rust).

• Experience in securing, monitoring, and managing Identity and Access Management systems (our tools include Okta, Kolide, Teleport, and Cloudflare Access).

• Profound understanding of data security within enterprise environments.

• Experience in working with “zero-trust” network architecture environments.

• Experience in deploying and managing Mobile Device Management, Endpoint Detection and Response, and device trust tools.

• Knowledge and practical application of IT security best practices.
