Senior Security Engineer – DeFi, AI Security

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Conduct threat modeling for new product features and integrations, enhancing systems with robust security measures.

• Manage and optimize the application security toolchain while ensuring it remains relevant for engineering teams.

• Oversee daily security operations encompassing EDR, SIEM, on-chain monitoring, identity management, and cloud security.

• Evaluate security alerts, investigate incidents, address vulnerabilities, and minimize security distractions.

• Review vulnerability and bug-bounty reports based on actual risk and drive remediation efforts to completion.

• Assist in incident response from the initial investigation phase through to resolution.

• Lead the assessment and implementation of security tools and projects from vendor evaluation to organization-wide deployment.

• Collaborate effectively with engineering, infrastructure, product teams, and other stakeholders.

• Automate security processes using AI for vulnerability management, application security, access reviews, SOC 2 and audit evidence collection, vendor assessments, and routine security reporting.

• Develop reusable AI components, Claude skills, and security agents for use by engineering and other teams.

• Partner with the Head of Security to design, implement, and scale the company’s security program.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of practical experience in security engineering, encompassing application and product security as well as security operations.

• Proven experience in conducting technical security assessments of software and systems.

• Familiarity with system hardening, security policy analysis, and the implementation of effective security controls.

• An adversarial mindset with the capability to think like an attacker and challenge existing assumptions.

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, TypeScript, or JavaScript.

• Experience with Claude Code, Codex, or comparable AI development tools.

• Hands-on experience utilizing AI/LLMs for security automation and developing reusable tools embraced by engineering teams.

• Experience managing security projects from inception to full deployment across the organization.

• Background in securing high-value or high-throughput transaction systems.

• Excellent communication abilities, capable of articulating technical security risks clearly and driving issues to resolution.

• Familiarity with crypto, blockchain, DeFi, or on-chain security is an advantage.

• Experience in securing financial infrastructure or platforms with heavy transaction loads is a plus.
