This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Evaluate incoming alerts and referrals on a daily basis against established investigation thresholds, determine priority and next steps, and detect novel signals.
• Track identified wallets across various chains, bridges, and funding flows, differentiate controlling wallets from contract and proxy wallets, group related addresses, and trace withdrawal paths to resolution.
• Analyze order-book and execution data for activities such as spoofing, layering, wash trading, and coordinated multi-account actions, linking behaviors to the wallets involved.
• Examine insider trading, manipulation of oracles and resolution sources, abuse of bots and automated trading, exposure to sanctions, and flows of illicit finance.
• Create queries, conduct lightweight analyses, and suggest new detection signals.
• Record every case with clear, sourced, audit-ready findings framed as suspected rather than confirmed.
• Manage law enforcement and regulatory inquiries, including subpoenas, preservation letters, and court orders, while monitoring deadlines and escalating unusual matters to legal counsel.
• Over 3 years of experience in trade surveillance, on-chain investigations, blockchain analytics, financial crime investigation, or exchange operations.
• Significant DeFi experience can compensate for less extensive traditional surveillance experience, and vice versa.
• Practical experience in wallet tracing across blockchains, including funding flows, withdrawal paths, bridges, mixers, and address clustering.
• Familiarity with order-book manipulation techniques, such as spoofing, layering, wash trading, and coordinated multi-account activity.
• Knowledge of exchange trading and order-book mechanics.
• Proficient in SQL or a similar query language for analyzing trading, device/IP, and on-chain data.
• Excellent written communication skills for creating legally and regulatorily defensible case documentation.
• Understanding of prediction markets, crypto-native platforms, market resolution, and market integrity.
• Experience with Chainalysis, TRM Labs, or Elliptic is advantageous.
• Familiarity with automated trade-surveillance platforms such as Nasdaq SMARTS is a plus.
• Understanding of oracle and market-resolution mechanisms is an asset.
• Prior experience in a regulated financial environment or with sanctions and illicit-finance screening is beneficial.
• Knowledge of Python or similar scripting languages is a plus.
