Senior Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Oversee security events and provide technical analysis on alerts

• Take charge of information security incidents and employee insider investigations by formulating the incident response strategy, leading the execution to incident resolution, and supplying updates to key stakeholders throughout the process

• Offer clear and concise security guidance for incident response and insider threat initiatives

• Facilitate the development of services, capabilities, integrations, and technology implementations that support security operations, incident response, and insider threat

• Advocate for, exemplify, and integrate Samsara’s cultural principles as the company scales globally and expands into new offices

• Join our on-call rotation to cover weekends

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Security Incident Response

• Capability to communicate investigative findings and strategies to technical teams, executive leadership, and legal departments

• Proficiency in building scripts or tools to aid Samsara’s investigation processes, particularly in Python

• Mentor and train security operation engineers on data gathering, analysis, and technical reporting

• Hands-on experience serving as a lead during security incident responses, which includes monitoring and triaging alerts, and coordinating among teams

• Knowledge of analysis and forensics techniques applicable to macOS, Windows, and Linux

• Experience in utilizing SIEM tools for log reviews

• Familiarity with cloud architecture and security (AWS, GCP) as well as cloud-based services

• This position will be aligned with our EMEA operations, so your hours will correspond with the UK. As part of the operational schedule, you may need to work flexible hours to accommodate the team's workload.
