This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Supervise the design and enhancement of Microsoft Sentinel, Defender for Endpoint, and Identity Governance controls.
• Connect the high-level security strategy with practical implementation—leading detection engineering initiatives, mentoring team members, and ensuring that our cloud and hybrid environments comply with stringent defensive standards through proactive threat hunting and architectural assessments.
• Work alongside the security team on detection engineering projects within the SIEM platform, including the development of use cases, tuning of correlation rules, and optimizing alerts.
• Assist in managing and optimizing Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, focusing on policy design, strategic planning, and advanced investigative capabilities.
• Collaborate with the team to manage the technical response to major security incidents, encompassing root-cause analysis and enhancements to controls.
• Perform proactive threat hunting across endpoints, identity systems, and cloud platforms.
• Establish and uphold secure configuration standards for Azure, Microsoft 365, and hybrid environments.
• Direct the design and optimization of identity security measures (conditional access, privileged access management, and access governance).
• Set logging standards and enhance telemetry coverage across infrastructure, cloud, and identity systems.
• Engage in architectural reviews to pinpoint security vulnerabilities early and propose practical mitigation strategies.
• Direct the vulnerability management strategy and prioritize remediation efforts.
• Aid in regulatory assessments and cybersecurity audits through technical validation of control effectiveness.
• Over 7 years of experience in security engineering or advanced security operations.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint and SIEM platforms (notably Microsoft Sentinel).
• Strong expertise in cloud security architecture, especially within Azure environments.
• Proven history of leading incident response efforts and executing comprehensive root-cause analysis.
• Demonstrated experience with automation and scripting languages, including PowerShell, Python, and KQL.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
• At least one active relevant certification: AZ-500, CCSP, CISSP, or GIAC.
