This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Identify potential service enhancement opportunities and propose suitable solutions.

• Perform desktop evaluations of special-status species, wetlands, water bodies, and other sensitive biological resources.

• Execute biological reconnaissance surveys, habitat assessments, habitat mapping, species-specific surveys, nesting bird surveys, botanical inventories, impact evaluations, and mitigation monitoring.

• Collaborate with construction personnel and management to ensure seamless workflow and adherence to environmental regulations.

• Draft pre-activity, pre-construction, biological compliance monitoring, technical, and regulatory permit documentation.

• Implement projects focused on habitat and species restoration, enhancement, or management.

• Utilize GPS, GIS, binoculars, cameras, aerial surveys, statistical analysis, specialized software, and databases for biological resource evaluations and impact assessments.

• Conduct literature reviews.

• Prepare, review, and comprehend project scopes, timelines, and budgets.

• Monitor project progress and maintain communication with stakeholders.

• Organize, participate in, or lead project meetings.

• Address challenges and enhance processes to satisfy client requirements.

• Develop field survey scopes and timelines while interpreting protocol specifications.

• Oversee fieldwork and act as the primary contact, including daily field check-ins and check-outs.

• Ensure team members possess the necessary tools and skills.

• Mentor junior personnel and provide regular performance evaluations.

• Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures by team members.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental biology, ecology, wildlife management, botany, or a related discipline.

• Over 8 years of professional experience in the biological sciences, showcasing strong field capabilities.

• In-depth knowledge of California’s flora and fauna, as well as the ecology of T&E/sensitive species.

• Comprehensive understanding of California’s regulatory framework, including ESA, CESA, CEQA, NEPA, and 401/404 permitting processes.

• Experience in preparing and executing permitting requirements.

• Ability to work autonomously while being highly responsive to team needs.

• Proficiency in Google Earth, GPS, GIS, binoculars, cameras, aerial surveys, statistical analysis, specialized software, and databases.

• Capability to operate in both field and office environments.

• Willingness to travel, including overnight stays.

• Valid driver’s license.
