Senior Scientific Advisor – Molecular

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas.

📋 Description

• Provide scientific leadership by keeping up-to-date with emerging technologies and addressing complex bioanalytical and molecular technical challenges.

• Maintain a high level of expertise in bioanalytical scientific trends and regulatory requirements that affect molecular assays.

• Collaborate closely with Sales and Marketing teams, serving as the scientific lead during initial client discussions and study planning.

• Oversee the scoping and pricing of projects and assist Business Development with pricing strategy and negotiations as necessary.

• Contribute to revenue growth by achieving sales objectives that align with the business unit’s capacity and expansion goals.

• Aid in forecasting new business opportunities by assessing the likelihood and timing of prospects and sharing insights with operations.

• Stay informed about regulatory compliance requirements and provide recommendations based on audits from regulatory bodies or clients.

• Facilitate impactful technical communications—including webinars, white papers, and e-blasts—in partnership with the Marketing team.

• Actively engage in industry panels, conferences, and professional forums to sustain a strong regulatory perspective and presence in thought leadership.

• Support the Business Development team in acquiring new and repeat business within the designated territory.

• Review and ensure the accuracy of business data in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) to aid in revenue forecasting.

• Travel up to 25% on average, with flexibility to accommodate high-demand opportunities.

• Uphold the company brand in all interactions and act as a positive ambassador for the brand.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, or a related field.

• Over 5 years of experience managing, directing, or advising bioanalytical laboratories or more than 5 years of direct sales experience in a CRO environment with a robust technical background.

• Proficient in molecular bioanalytical techniques, such as PCR, qPCR, ddPCR, and/or NGS (required).

• Strong comprehension of molecular assay applications including gene expression analysis, biodistribution, or nucleic acid quantification.

• Previous experience in client-facing roles, which includes presenting bioanalytical capabilities, leading technical discussions, or participating in scientific conferences (posters, presentations, panels).

• Experience working within a pharmaceutical company, CRO, or a similar setting.

• Excellent understanding of relevant regulatory policies (GLP/GCLP/GDP as applicable).

• Solid knowledge of financial metrics, pricing strategies, and budgeting in a CRO context.
