Senior SAP PI/PO Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Engage in analyzing the client's business operations to verify requirements and scope, recommend process enhancements, and assist with level of effort (LOE) estimation as needed.

• Design, develop, implement, test, deploy, and provide operations and maintenance (O&M) support for both synchronous and asynchronous interfaces between Client SAP instances and external systems utilizing the SAP PI/PO platform.

• Assess, model, and design interface objects from an enterprise Service Architecture viewpoint to construct interfaces effectively.

• Oversee production interfaces and respond to incidents within the designated timeframes.

• Import external WSDL structures into SAP PI/PO and develop REST-based interfaces.

• Configure interfaces to utilize various SAP PI/PO adapters and direct traffic to external systems.

• Set up EDI interfaces using the PO B2B adapter.

• Create message mappings between complex source and target structures.

• Utilize Application Link Enabling for data exchange among SAP instances.

• Develop scripts, applets, and Java code necessary for implementing interfaces between SAP instances and external systems, navigating through the SAP PI/PO instance.

• Participate in the Operations and Maintenance call rotation support.

• Implement SAP ABAP software applications and interfaces.

• Develop, test, debug, implement, maintain, and document interfaces using SAP Proxy and IDOC technologies.

• Create and maintain SAP design and technical specification documentation.

• Conduct unit, integration, and release testing to ensure functionality validation.

• Assist end-users in Acceptance Testing activities.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 8 years of relevant experience.

• Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA).

• Proficient in software development within SAP NetWeaver ABAP and Java Stack environments.

• Experience in configuring and developing interfaces in SAP PI/PO.

• Familiarity with WSDL and XSD definitions.

• Experience with EDI transactions including 850, 860, 856, and 810.

• Proficient with REST, SOAP, and FILE adapters.

• Experience working with the B2B adapter for designing and developing EDI mappings.

• Knowledge in ABAP Objects, ABAP Reports, ABAP online transactions, interface/dialog programming, ALE and IDOCs, RFCs, module pools, User Exits, BADIs, BAPIs, Batch Programming, SAP Script Output, IDOC development and maintenance, Data Dictionary, Function Modules, and other repository objects.

• Capability to adhere to stringent development standards and perform code reviews.

• Proficient in building web services.

• Understanding of SAP IDOC processing and monitoring services, including SAP PI IDOC sender and receiver adapters for transforming messages from SAP IDOC to XML format.

• Knowledge of SAP ABAP client/server proxy technology.

• Basic understanding of HTML programming, Secure FTP, FIPS 140-2 compliant Apache web servers, LAN/WAN architecture, and Firewall Security.

• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Ability to work independently (self-motivated) and collaboratively in a team environment.

• Effective communication skills with Management—providing status updates, suggesting corrective actions, and taking direction when decisions are made.

• Ability to interact effectively with diverse customer organizations—receiving guidance and feedback on requirements and deliverables.
