This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.
• Collaborate with Account Executives (AEs) and Regional Sales Managers (RSMs) to identify opportunities, comprehend customer challenges, and develop customized technical solutions.
• Conduct thorough discovery sessions with 911 centers, emergency management organizations, and public safety IT teams.
• Present captivating product demonstrations, technical workshops, and proof-of-concept sessions tailored to the specific environment of the agency.
• Lead and accurately respond to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and security questionnaires with professionalism.
• Simplify complex technical concepts into clear, benefit-oriented explanations suitable for non-technical audiences.
• Act as the subject-matter expert regarding Prepared’s platform architecture, integrations, APIs, and data workflows.
• Offer configuration and system design recommendations based on customer needs, existing CAD/NG911 systems, and IT infrastructure.
• Counsel agencies on best practices concerning network security, system interoperability, and deployment strategies.
• Keep abreast of trends in public safety software, standards (NG911, CAD, RMS, PSAP operations), and competitor products.
• Collaborate with Sales, Product, and Engineering teams to enhance our demo environments, messaging, and readiness for the field.
• Gather and communicate customer feedback to shape the product roadmap and technical documentation.
• Assist proposal teams by providing technical content, diagrams, and specifications.
• Support marketing and partner teams in creating technical collateral, webinars, and events.
• Establish trust with agency decision-makers, IT administrators, and operations leaders by showcasing a profound understanding of public safety workflows.
• Ensure technical assurance throughout the sales process to expedite purchasing decisions.
• Represent Prepared at trade shows, conferences, and industry events as a technical ambassador.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in public safety, emergency communications, or PSAP operations, with a preference for senior-level leadership experience (Director, Assistant Director, Executive Director, or equivalent).
• Proven track record in selling, implementing, or enabling public safety software (e.g., NG911 call handling, CAD, RMS, ESInet, radio systems, mass notification, or emergency communications platforms).
• Demonstrated ability to function as a field-facing technical advisor to Sales—managing discovery, solution design, demonstrations, technical validation, and RFP/RFI responses from start to finish.
• Extensive understanding of PSAP workflows, operational limitations, funding models, procurement processes, and compliance environments, including experience presenting to boards, executives, and elected officials.
• Strong technical proficiency across cloud-based platforms, integrations/APIs, network infrastructure, data workflows, and system interoperability in public safety settings.
