This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +2 more states.
• This role involves extensive programming and data analysis for RW data evaluations.
• Familiarity with commercial databases such as Optum, HealthVerity, or PharmMetrics is essential.
• Providing support for protocol and SAP reviews in collaboration with the epidemiologist is crucial.
• Positions within the Statistical Programming job family focus on developing programs and delivering statistical programming assistance for epidemiologists or for client and business applications to fulfill requirements for sourcing, organizing (creating statistical tables, listings, and graphs), and interpreting intricate data sets using codes and programs.
• Responsibilities include creating codes that generate analysis datasets, tables, and figures, assessing programming processes, and recommending modifications aimed at enhancing productivity.
• Data Experience: eHR Claims Data: Optum, HealthVerity, or IQVIA PharmMetrics
• Preferred: MarketScan, VA data, Medicaid, Medicare
• Required Programming Language: SAS or R
• Must possess SQL expertise.
• Experience in programmatic cohort derivation
• Familiarity with index date definition
• Proficiency in Modeling/Programming GLM Logistic Cox Propensity Score Matching Incidence computation
• Capable of preparing data specifications and acquiring a solid understanding of study protocols.
• Review data and program outputs against protocol specifications, identifying issues or inquiries, and escalating as necessary.
• Ability to manage and resolve messy data
• Skill in identifying issues and potential solutions
• Understanding of follow-up periods and their implications
• Familiarity with ICD or other relevant clinical terminologies
• OMOP CDM knowledge
• Transform healthcare data into a standardized format
• Experience with AI/ML for LLM, workflow, and scaffolding is advantageous.
• Preferred: AI/ML modeling experience.
• Proficiency with Github and version control.
• Utilizes R, SAS, Python, or other software to create custom programming code for generating summary tables, data listings, graphs, and derived RW datasets as outlined in the statistical analysis plan and programming specifications.
• Development of programming specifications is required.
• Ensures that outputs adhere to quality standards and project specifications.
• Conducts validation programming and collaborates with other Programmers, Biostatisticians, Epidemiologists, and project team members to address discrepancies or findings.
• Keeps project team members updated on programming progress and any issues that need their attention.
• Adheres to applicable SOPs, WIs, and pertinent regulatory guidelines (e.g. ICH).
• Maintains well-organized, comprehensive, and current project documentation, testing, and verification/quality control documents and programs to ensure readiness for inspection.
• Balances scheduling and time management across multiple projects, sets goals based on management priorities, and adjusts to timeline or priority shifts by reorganizing daily tasks.
• Develops specifications for datasets and outputs of varying complexity in accordance with statistical and sponsor requirements.
• Proactively anticipates and addresses potential programming challenges, demonstrating foresight, establishing a foundation for efficient programming, and precisely defining all variables to be accepted by peer review and the sponsor/requestor with minimal revisions.
• Prepares thoroughly for internal meetings, contributes ideas, and shows respect for others' opinions.
• Conducts effective internal meetings (appropriate in format, frequency, and attendance).
• Distributes relevant information beforehand.
• Ensures that meeting minutes are promptly and accurately shared.
• Follows through on action items to completion, maintaining order and focus during meetings and striving toward consensus.
