Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer, AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Create the next generation of AI-driven functionalities within a well-established software platform.

• Build scalable product features utilizing a Ruby on Rails backend alongside modern React applications.

• Design and deploy production-ready features powered by LLM technology.

• Lead the integration of AI-driven workflows and contemporary AI development methodologies.

• Troubleshoot and navigate within a large Rails application or monolithic architecture.

• Integrate third-party APIs and external services seamlessly.

• Assess AI systems and evaluate model quality through testing or evaluation frameworks.

• Collaborate through code reviews, technical discussions, and Agile development methodologies.

• Potentially design AI agents, RAG architectures, evaluation pipelines, and LLM observability systems.

• Possibly mentor engineers and advocate for AI best practices throughout development teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional experience in developing applications with Ruby on Rails.

• Experience with large, production-grade Rails applications or monolithic architectures.

• Practical experience in designing and delivering LLM-powered features in a production environment.

• Background in building retrieval-based systems, AI workflows, or structured LLM integrations.

• Experience in evaluating AI systems and assessing model quality through testing or evaluation frameworks.

• Solid understanding of Ruby, JavaScript, and contemporary software engineering best practices.

• Proficient in React for developing, testing, and troubleshooting frontend features.

• Experience with the integration of third-party APIs and external services.

• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and architectural decision-making abilities.

• Experience collaborating through code reviews, technical discussions, and Agile development practices.

• Excellent English communication skills — at least B2 level proficiency.

• Availability to overlap a minimum of 75% of the Eastern Time business day.
