Senior Ruby Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North America.

📋 Description

• Oversee a sophisticated backend that handles more than 350 million web server requests daily.

• Develop a contemporary API application based on a functional architecture using Ruby, Ruby on Rails, and/or Sinatra.

• Create well-structured, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code utilizing RSpec with Test & Behavior Driven Development (TDD & BDD).

• Comprehend and implement robust architectural patterns that extend beyond the conventional MVC framework of Rails.

• Possess a strong understanding of object-oriented programming and architectural patterns.

• Collaborate with, mentor, and lead a distributed team of developers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in computer science, a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.

• Over 5 years of experience in software development.

• More than 3 years of software development experience specifically using Ruby.

• Familiarity with design and architectural patterns.

• A strong sense of ownership, ability to work autonomously, and a proven history of driving product success.

• Experience shipping consumer APIs utilized concurrently by thousands of users.

• Availability to collaborate between 9 a.m. EST and 1 p.m. EST, regardless of your current timezone.

• Experience working with remote, global teams.

• Enthusiasm for and openness to pair programming.

• Willingness to learn languages outside of your current server specialty, such as Swift, Kotlin, Python, or JavaScript.
