This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee daily project operations in capacities such as principal investigator, project director, or task lead, ensuring that deliverables are achieved on schedule, within budget, and to a high standard.
• Foster collaborative project teams by creating timelines and coordinating staff responsibilities.
• Identify research challenges and design robust applied studies, including relevant research questions, methodologies, and analytical frameworks.
• Utilize subject-matter expertise to craft and execute pertinent, responsive, and impactful research and technical assistance initiatives.
• Formulate study designs that align research questions, methodologies, and analytic plans.
• Lead and contribute to proposals for federal, state, foundations, and other clientele.
• Develop and implement innovative solutions to practical issues in applied research.
• Oversee data collection and analysis initiatives, including the creation of qualitative and/or quantitative data collection instruments (e.g., interview protocols, focus group guides, surveys).
• Supervise field-based data collection efforts, encompassing interviews, observations, focus groups, and document reviews.
• Conduct or supervise data analysis using appropriate tools and techniques for various data types.
• Clearly and effectively communicate study progress and findings through reports, briefs, visualizations, and other materials.
• Represent the organization professionally in client engagements and manage relationships with clients and stakeholders, being mindful of the broader policy and practice environment.
• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with clients, partners, and stakeholders, fostering positive and collaborative working relationships.
• Contribute thoughtfully and creatively to project teams.
• PhD in a related field (e.g., Economics, Health Services Research, Public Policy, or a related discipline) with 3+ years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree with 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Proven ability to translate complex concepts into actionable work plans and timelines.
• Experience with qualitative data collection methods (e.g., structured interviews, observations, survey research) and analytical software (e.g., NVivo), and/or quantitative analysis using tools such as Stata, R, or Python.
• Experience managing project and/or task teams on research, evaluation, and technical assistance projects.
• Proven track record of building and maintaining strong client and partner relationships.
• Experience supporting business development efforts, including grant and proposal writing.
• Experience analyzing claims and other large or complex datasets.
• Experience working in contract research and/or evaluation organizations.
• Subject matter expertise in Medicare, Medicaid, or Marketplace financing or policy.
