This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Supports intricate research and Knowledge Management (KM) projects for attorneys and business services professionals worldwide, integrating new technology.
• Conducts cost-effective ready reference and comprehensive research on legal, corporate, and other subjects utilizing both online and print resources.
• Summarizes research findings into clear and concise reports.
• Provides training to Research & Knowledge Analysts and other team members.
• Develops and maintains alert services that highlight matters of interest to attorneys and existing or potential clients.
• Works autonomously and collaboratively with the Knowledge Strategy (KS) team and designated practice areas to select, gather, organize, maintain, and update content for practice area websites and databases.
• Distributes knowledge resources through the firm's intranet and databases to attorneys.
• Partners with practice group leaders and other attorneys to create effective KS websites and databases.
• Cultivates relationships with attorneys to enhance awareness of KS initiatives and encourage their engagement.
• Assesses new and updated versions of information resources, both online and in print, and recommends valuable information sources for the firm.
• Facilitates access to and promotes the effective use of internal and external knowledge resources.
• Provides comprehensive research and KM support when working remotely or onsite.
• Aids in the creation and maintenance of best practices.
• Assists in evaluating new and updated versions of information resources, both online and in print, and suggests beneficial information sources for the Firm.
• Develops subject-specific guides, tip sheets, and training materials as departmental needs and resources evolve.
• Utilizes workflow software for the distribution and documentation of research and KM requests.
• Ensures continuity of Research & Knowledge Services operations during Manager absences as required.
• Manages Firm resources with responsibility.
• Adheres to and comprehends Firm operations, policies, and procedures.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
• Master's Degree in Library Science or a minimum of four years of directly related experience.
• At least six years of experience conducting research in a legal or corporate information center.
• Proficient in utilizing computer-based research tools: Lexis, Westlaw, Bloomberg Law, Intelligize, Practical Law, PLI, Capital IQ, Deal Point Data, SNL, VitalLaw, Pitchbook, Courthouse News Services, Accurint, HeinOnline, Fromcounsel, Filings Expert, and others.
• Extensive and thorough knowledge of legal, business, and financial information sources.
• Familiarity with knowledge management principles, technology, and best practices.
• Strong competency with relevant firm software programs (e.g., Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), with the capability to learn new software and operating systems.
• Demonstrates the ability to leverage artificial intelligence and emerging technologies to enhance research and analysis.
• Exhibits effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Shows meticulous attention to detail.
• Maintains a courteous and professional demeanor, prioritizing a strong customer-service approach.
• Proven skill in using web page editors.
• Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Skilled at managing multiple projects and adapting to shifting priorities.
• Competent in handling sensitive matters while maintaining confidentiality.
• Proficient in organizing and prioritizing tasks.
