
Senior Research Engineer, Threat Intelligence

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Take ownership of the process from research findings to production-ready artifacts.
• Collaborate with neighboring teams to establish clear handoff agreements.
• Develop and sustain components of the STRIKE platform.
• Transform research into deployable detection content.
• Promote the adoption of STIX 2.1.
• Create automation solutions to eliminate routine overhead from research activities.
• Work in coordination with engineering, measurement, and platform product teams.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related technical discipline.
• 5 to 8 years of experience in a hands-on engineering position with significant exposure to threat intelligence, security research, or detection engineering.
• Previous experience in developing production systems that utilize or generate threat intelligence data.
• Proficiency in Python and TypeScript/Node at a production level.
• Familiarity with relational and cache data stores, as well as at least one streaming or batch data platform.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS), containers, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Working knowledge of STIX 2.1, TAXII 2.1, MISP, and MITRE ATT&CK frameworks.
• Practical experience with YARA, Sigma, and STIX Patterning.
• Ability to interpret malware analysis outputs, parse adversary infrastructure data, and develop detection logic.
• Experience with production systems utilizing language models.
