Senior Regulatory Counsel, Americas

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +14 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee regulatory legal matters associated with our operations throughout the Americas.

• Track, report on, and shape trends and changes in payments and financial services regulations in the Americas.

• Collaborate closely with the Product Legal, Regulatory Compliance, Risk, and Financial Crime Compliance teams.

• Assist both local and global Product, Strategy, and Management teams.

• Engage with senior stakeholders at Airwallex on a global scale.

• Supervise external legal advisors and consultants within the Americas.

• Utilize AI and other tools to improve the scalability, efficiency, and effectiveness of the Regulatory Legal team.

• Offer legal counsel regarding Airwallex's obligations related to regulatory compliance.

• Aid in government relations initiatives aimed at legislators and regulatory bodies in key markets across the Americas.

⛳️ Requirements

• Licensed attorney with 8 years of pertinent post-qualification experience.

• Extensive regulatory background acquired in the fintech sector, reputable law firms, or financial institutions.

• Profound experience with a proven track record in advising on regulatory issues and managing regulatory submissions, filings, and strategy in financial services or payments.

• Strong comprehension of the financial services regulatory landscape in the Americas.

• Excellent stakeholder management capabilities.

• Proactive, results-oriented, and focused on ownership.

• Capacity to influence and clarify complex legal concepts to individuals without legal backgrounds.

• Team-oriented collaborator who thrives in dynamic and fast-paced environments, embracing ambiguity.
