Senior R&D Cloud Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, construct, and manage the private cloud, virtualization, and essential infrastructure platforms that support OpenCloud.

• Lead proof of concept initiatives and production validation for new infrastructure, storage, container, and platform technologies.

• Develop automation-first platforms from the ground up.

• Create architecture for storage, backup, and data protection solutions that fulfill enterprise-grade standards for performance, resilience, recoverability, and compliance across intricate hybrid cloud environments.

• Act as a technical leader and collaborate across functions, engaging with product, platform, operations, vendors, and open-source communities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of hands-on experience in systems engineering, focusing on Linux, virtualization, and storage, including practical experience with OpenStack or CloudStack.

• Experience with Nutanix is preferred.

• Extensive knowledge of Linux systems, private cloud IaaS, and virtualization (OpenStack/CloudStack or similar), as well as enterprise storage and data protection (SAN/NAS, object storage), with a preference for strong Kubernetes experience and exposure to AI/ML infrastructure.

• Advanced skills in platform engineering and automation, including Python and Bash scripting, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible), DevOps pipelines, and system/storage observability best practices, with a proven history of delivering scalable, production-grade solutions in large, complex environments.

• Strong technical leadership and influence abilities, serving as a point of escalation for emerging platform technologies, effectively conveying complex concepts to both technical and executive stakeholders, while demonstrating adaptability and a commitment to continuous learning in fast-evolving infrastructure ecosystems.
