Senior Quality Assurance Specialist – Automation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Evaluate project specifications, acceptance criteria, and design documents to ensure adherence to quality standards.

• Develop and sustain detailed test plans, test cases, traceability matrices, test data, and quality assurance documentation.

• Conduct and oversee functional, regression, integration, end-to-end, and non-functional testing activities.

• Assess project quality in alignment with business requirements and design documentation.

• Recognize, document, communicate, and assist in mitigating quality risks throughout project lifecycles.

• Generate defect tickets, monitor issues to resolution, and verify fixes.

• Relay test outcomes, issues, risks, and recommendations to project teams and stakeholders.

• Engage in sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily standups, release planning, and retrospective meetings.

• Ensure production challenges are analyzed and transformed into preventive testing scenarios when necessary.

• Design and implement automated end-to-end, regression, functional, and integration test suites utilizing Playwright and associated automation tools.

• Discover opportunities to minimize repetitive manual testing through automation.

• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar deployment processes.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance application testability and automation coverage.

• Assist in cross-browser and cross-device testing efforts using BrowserStack or comparable platforms.

• Contribute to best practices in automation, framework enhancements, and ongoing quality engineering initiatives.

• Offer insights into product quality, release readiness, testing progress, and risk factors.

• Produce QA reports, dashboards, metrics, and quality summaries for stakeholders.

• Collaborate closely with Developers, Designers, Product Owners, Project Managers, and QA team members to ensure successful project outcomes.

• Aid in the onboarding and mentoring of QA team members as needed.

• Continuously enhance QA methodologies, testing standards, and automation practices.

• Foster a proactive quality mindset across Agile teams and throughout the software development lifecycle.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional experience in Quality Assurance, Test Automation, Quality Engineering, or SDET-related roles.

• Significant hands-on experience with Playwright.

• Familiarity with automation frameworks such as Cypress, Selenium, WebDriverIO, or similar tools.

• Demonstrated experience in website testing, especially on CMS-based applications.

• Practical experience working with corporate CMS platforms like Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), Contentful, Sitecore, Contentstack, or similar systems.

• Proficient in designing, maintaining, and scaling automated testing frameworks.

• Strong comprehension of software testing methodologies, strategies, and industry best practices.

• Experience in creating test plans, test cases, traceability matrices, and QA documentation.

• Solid knowledge of end-to-end, regression, integration, functional, and cross-browser testing.

• Familiarity with integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar tools.

• Proficient with Jira, TestRail, GitHub, Confluence, or similar defect and test management platforms.

• Strong grasp of Agile methodologies and software development lifecycle processes.

• Experience in identifying quality risks, test coverage gaps, and opportunities for automation.

• Ability to analyze requirements and identify gaps in information that may be missing, unclear, or incomplete.

• Exceptional analytical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Capability to provide clear, concise, and actionable feedback.

• Experience working collaboratively with distributed or offshore teams.

• Extensive knowledge of Windows and/or MacOS environments.
