Senior QA Engineer – Line Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Evaluate business requirements, functional specifications, and technical design documents to determine testing needs and automation possibilities.

• Create, develop, and sustain automated integration and end-to-end testing suites utilizing Playwright and TypeScript.

• Set up testing strategies, automation protocols, and best practices in quality engineering.

• Confirm the accuracy of complex business processes, system integrations, APIs, and user interfaces.

• Partner with engineering, product, and architecture teams to guarantee testability and quality throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Incorporate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and release workflows.

• Analyze defects, discover root causes, and offer actionable insights to development teams.

• Lead and manage testing efforts conducted by contractor resources assigned to projects.

• Evaluate contractor performance, technical skills, and the quality of deliverables.

• Conduct technical assessments and interviews for potential contractor resources.

• Suggest staffing modifications, resource replacements, and skill alignment based on project requirements and performance evaluations.

• Mentor and support test engineers to enhance delivery quality and consistency.

• Establish productivity, quality, and automation benchmarks for contractor teams.

• Act as the main point of contact for quality engineering delivery and resource efficiency.

• Provide regular updates, risk evaluations, and suggestions to project leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in developing automated tests using Playwright.

• Expertise in TypeScript, JavaScript, and contemporary web application testing.

• Proven capability to interpret business requirements and translate them into automated testing scenarios.

• Experience in leading technical teams, mentoring engineers, or managing contractor resources.

• Strong knowledge of API testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing methodologies.

• Experience working within Agile development frameworks.

• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organizational abilities.
