Senior QA Engineer – Data Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Ensure accuracy of reports, dashboards, and aggregated metrics prior to delivery to customers.

• Reconcile reporting data with upstream APIs and original source data.

• Conduct independent verification of calculations instead of depending on downstream reports.

• Clarify and document definitions of business metrics when they are unclear.

• Create and implement automated data quality checks utilizing Soda or similar expectation frameworks.

• Validate data for freshness, volume, distribution, and alignment with business expectations.

• Test Airflow DAGs and Databricks jobs.

• Develop both automated and manual tests for REST and GraphQL APIs.

• Establish and maintain automated quality checks focusing on data validation while also supporting API and UI automation as necessary.

• Clearly document investigations, defects, and testing outcomes.

• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, and Analytics teams.

• Present quality risks and findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in QA.

• Proficient in SQL with the capability to independently craft complex queries.

• Experience in validating data against a primary source of truth.

• Comfortable handling raw API payloads.

• Experience in investigating discrepancies in reporting or data.

• More than 2 years of automation experience.

• Familiarity with testing REST APIs.

• Strong analytical and investigative abilities.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Experience with Playwright (or Selenium/Cypress with a willingness to adapt).
