Senior QA Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Uruguay.

📋 Description

• Comprehensive Quality Leadership: Oversee the complete QA lifecycle, from assessing requirements and user stories for testability to formulating test strategies and checklists, executing tests, and reporting on release readiness.

• Extensive Functional & Regression Testing: Carry out meticulous manual functional, integration, regression, compatibility, and exploratory testing to ensure the utmost quality of each release.

• API & Backend Testing: Execute comprehensive API testing using tools such as Postman and validate intricate business logic by crafting and executing SQL queries to ensure data integrity and backend functionality.

• Defect Management: Detect, document, isolate, and monitor bugs with a high degree of detail and clarity throughout their lifecycle. Collaborate closely with developers to expedite resolution and verify fixes.

• Advocacy for Process Improvement: Promote quality best practices, offer insightful feedback on requirements during grooming sessions, and contribute to the ongoing enhancement of our QA processes, tools, and methodologies.

• Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing: Actively share insights and best practices, assist fellow team members in improving their testing abilities, and foster a robust, company-wide culture of quality.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional QA experience, demonstrating a successful history in testing complex web applications.

• Proficiency in contemporary QA methodologies, test design techniques (e.g., equivalence partitioning, boundary value analysis), and mastery of the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Testing Life Cycle (STLC) within Agile frameworks (Scrum/Kanban).

• Skilled in database testing: Practical experience in writing complex SQL queries to validate backend behavior, ensure data integrity, and perform data/setup/teardown for test scenarios in relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL).

• Basic experience in test automation with tools such as Cypress, Playwright, or Selenium.

• Capability to read and comprehend code in JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python to support test analysis and future automation initiatives.

• Exceptional analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a systematic approach to testing.

• Proficient in English (both written and spoken).

• Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with Developers, Product Owners, and the QA Team.
