Senior QA Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain scalable test automation frameworks utilizing Playwright.

• Write high-quality, maintainable code in C# and JavaScript/TypeScript to facilitate automated testing and QA tooling.

• Create and enhance internal tools and utilities that boost the efficiency of the QA team and expand test coverage.

• Develop and uphold end-to-end, integration, and performance testing solutions.

• Integrate automation frameworks and tools into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing and quality gates.

• Collaborate with QA engineers to facilitate the adoption of automation tools and best practices.

• Utilize AI tools and techniques to enhance test generation, defect detection, root cause analysis, and test optimization.

• Analyze system behavior, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to enhance reliability and performance.

• Contribute to the test strategy by introducing scalable, code-driven methodologies to quality engineering.

• Mentor QA engineers and developers on automation, tooling, and contemporary testing practices.

• Propel advancements in engineering quality, automation standards, and development methodologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in software development, SDET, or automation engineering roles.

• Proficient programming skills in C# and JavaScript/TypeScript.

• Practical experience with Playwright for contemporary test automation.

• Demonstrated experience in developing automation frameworks, tools, or developer-centric testing solutions.

• Strong grasp of software development principles, design patterns, and testability.

• Experience in integrating automated testing within CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience using AI/ML or AI-assisted development tools to enhance testing or engineering workflows.

• Excellent debugging, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

• Experience in Agile or Scrum environments.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across engineering and QA teams.

• Working knowledge of SQL with the ability to query and validate data.

• Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with .NET / ASP.NET and modern backend development practices.

• Experience in supporting or enabling QA teams through tooling and automation platforms.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure.

• Experience with performance and load testing frameworks.

• Exposure to front-end frameworks like Angular.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
