Senior Python Developer – R&D Project

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the Python processing pipeline — Real-time data collection, signal processing, and detection algorithms

• Combine hardware and software components — Sensor arrays, data acquisition systems, and real-time data streams

• Oversee and enhance the entire tech stack — Node.js API, NextJS frontend, and MQTT messaging

• Collaborate with subject matter experts — Partner with our product team and external consultants for algorithm enhancement

• Contribute to additional projects — As this project matures, assist with other Python, backend, and AI initiatives

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in software development

• Proficient in Python — Capable of writing production-quality code, with a strong grasp of data and signal processing

• Experience in backend web development — Familiarity with Node.js, APIs, and real-time systems (WebSockets, MQTT)

• Ability to solve problems in uncertain situations — This position is R&D focused; you will need to navigate challenges independently

• Self-motivated — Able to work autonomously with regular check-ins

• Strong preference for experience in signal processing / DSP — Knowledge of frequency analysis, sensor data, and real-time streams

• Full-stack capabilities — Able to work across Python, Node.js, and frontend technologies as needed

• Background in science or research — Comfortable with experimentation and iterative processes

• Nice to have: Experience in ML/AI — Model training, TensorFlow, and data pipeline management

• Experience with hardware integration — Familiarity with sensors, data acquisition, and embedded systems
